Collecting personal data
We collect your personal data in one or more of the following situations:
- When you become a client at Patrade
- When you act as counterparty or third party in at least one of our cases
- When you sign up for Patrade’s newsletter
- When you participate in a Patrade competition
- When you sign up for an event facilitated by Patrade
In such case, we may obtain and keep the following types of information on you:
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Place of employment
Upon receipt of job applications, we keep personal data provided in such applications (e.g. civil registration number or information on health conditions). Such documents are kept in our HR system which can only be accessed by the persons responsible for recruitment.
Use of personal data
We collect and use personal data for the following purposes:
- Counselling and conduction of legal cases
- Registration of sign-up for newsletters
- Administration of user accounts / profiles
- Participation in competitions or other events
- Distribution of marketing material, including event invitations
- Other marketing initiatives
- Consideration of job applications
The legal basis for use of personal data depends on the type of task and information at hand. In most cases, use of personal data is necessary in order to honour our side of the contracts with our clients; to safeguard our clients’ lawful/legitimate interests, or to establish, enforce or defend their legal claims, cf. the Danish General Data Protection Regulation, article 6 (1), paras b) and f).
Please be informed that use of your personal data for distribution of marketing material will only take place, when prior consent has been obtained from you – the only exception being, where Danish legislation allows contact without prior consent.
Sharing your personal data with third parties
We only share your personal data with third parties in the form of authorities (e.g. the Danish Patent and Trademark Office), business partners (e.g. foreign agents) and counterparties, when necessary in order to provide our services to you, or when we are legally obliged because of our role as data responsible party.
Please note that we are not responsible for third party any violation of the data protection law in force at any time.
In case of reorganisation or wholly or partially disposal of the company, any sharing of your personal data will happen pursuant to the Danish data protection regulation in force at the time in question.
Entrusting your personal data to data processors
Your personal data is entrusted to Patrade’s business partners (software providers and providers of administration services) acting on behalf of Patrade. Such business partners solely process personal data on behalf of Patrade and in accordance with instructions given by Patrade.
In some instances, personal data may be transferred outside Denmark and the EU in order to honour our side of our client contracts. Such transfers will only take place when necessary for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract between Patrade and you or between Patrade and any other natural or legal person.
How long do we keep your personal data
We delete or anonymise your personal data, when this data is no longer needed to satisfy one or more purposes for which the data was collected, or at the latest when we no longer have any legal interest in keeping the data. When it is deemed necessary in order to honour our responsibility as counsellor, we may in specific cases keep your personal data for ten years after the conclusion of a case.
Implementation of in-house regulations on data security has been conducted containing instructions and precautions to protect your personal data from being destroyed, lost/altered or exposed to publication or unauthorised access.
At any time, you are entitled to inspect the data we process on you – with certain statutory exceptions, however. You are also entitled to object to the collection and processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you are entitled to have your personal data corrected, deleted or blocked in accordance with the regulations in force. Finally, you may request that all data on you is handed over to you or that the data responsibility is transferred to someone else (data portability).
Withdrawal of consent
You may at any time withdraw any given consent. All your data will then be deleted, unless another legal basis allows the continued processing. If you wish to withdraw your consent, please contact us at email@example.com.
